It is the one essential tool in my S.T.E.M toolbox. g3a file into the root directory and eject (on Windows, right click on the drive in Explorer). My lessons could focus on understanding the math behind the solution on the screen. The fx-CG50 replaced my need for complicated button pushing instructions and allowed me to focus on teaching mathematics at a deeper level.
As a teacher I look for technology that will support what I am doing in class and not complicate my lessons. They commented that it was like using a smartphone. My students fell in love with the simplicity of its menu driven icons. When I first saw the Casio fx-CG50 in action I was amazed by the color and the power at my fingertips. Use f4, f5, and f6 to change the block you are using. Press Exit or Menu to open the main menu. Hold down the number until you see you character change to destroy a block. Use the numbers to place blocks around your character. I wrote this while my teacher was blabbing about her kids or whatnot.
I have also re-written the program from scratch and it is 1/3 its original size even with the additional content Update May 24,2012: Random map generation! I have created a simple algorithm that makes clumps of blocks that you can interact with.
